Five years of growth, grit, and genuine connection — brewed one cup at a time.
It started the way most meaningful things do — small and uncertain. In 2021, Ratio Coffee took its first steps not as a cafe, but as a humble wooden cart on the streets of Parang, Marikina. The space was minimal, the setup simple, but every cup carried the weight of a dream we were just beginning to believe in.
Those early days were defined by excitement and doubt in equal measure. We learned quickly that specialty coffee isn't just about the beans — it's about the people on both sides of the bar. Customers began to return not just for the drinks, but because they felt something here: a warmth, a connection, a sense that this was a place that genuinely cared.
Growth came with risk. Our second location brought us up to a second floor — more seats, more visibility, more pressure to get it right. This was where we made our most important mistakes and discovered our rhythm. The space became a classroom, and the community became our most honest teachers. It was here that the phrase "let coffee connect us" went from being a tagline to a lived truth.
Great coffee is not an accident — it is the result of deliberate choices about origin, process, grind, and extraction. We take every variable seriously because the cup you receive is the sum of every decision we make before it reaches you.
The coffee bar is a social space by nature. We believe that the best cups are shared, that conversations started over coffee outlast the drinks themselves, and that a neighborhood cafe should feel like a genuine extension of the community it serves.
We rotate our guest beans from specialty roasters across Asia and beyond because we believe the story behind the coffee — the farm, the varietal, the process — matters as much as the taste. Every new bean is an invitation to explore.
We approach every drink — from the simplest Americano to the most complex pour-over — with the same level of intentionality and care, because no cup is beneath our best effort.
Marikina is not just our location — it is our identity. We actively participate in local events, support local causes, and believe that a business only truly thrives when the neighborhood thrives alongside it.
The coffee world is vast and ever-evolving, and we never stop learning — whether it's a new processing method, a new roasting partner, or a better way to serve our customers.
Every time you visit, whether on a quiet Tuesday morning or a busy Friday night, the standard of our coffee and the warmth of our welcome should feel exactly the same.
We started from a wooden cart with borrowed confidence, and every step forward has been earned — through long hours, honest feedback, and the refusal to settle for "good enough."
Ratio Coffee launched as a small wooden coffee cart in the Parang district of Marikina. With minimal equipment and maximum belief, we poured our first cups under a simple banner that read "Now Brewing." The cart sold cinnamon rolls, egg nests, and muffins alongside our early coffee offerings.
A second, bigger space opened on the second floor of a building in Marikina, giving us room to grow both physically and conceptually. The warm amber lighting and the "R: Ratio Coffee" logo painted on the wall became our first true visual identity. This was where we began to attract regulars and built our foundation.
We opened our current space at 29 A. De Guzman St., Concepcion Uno — a sleek, modern cafe with concrete floors, a full espresso bar, and the signature black "RATIO COFFEE" signage. The mobile coffee cart was formally added as a bookable offering for private events and weddings.
Ratio Coffee launched its rotating guest beans program, partnering with acclaimed specialty roasters from Japan, Taiwan, and beyond to bring internationally sourced single-origin coffees to Marikina. We also joined GrabFood, achieving a 4.8-star rating from over 185 reviews.
Ratio Coffee collaborated with Dekata Lifestyle and participated in the TB-Free Nation awareness campaign, cementing our identity as a community-driven brand. The mobile coffee cart was booked at weddings, corporate events, and charity drives across Metro Manila.
We marked our fifth year with a community event called "1:5" on April 12, 2026, bringing together local merchants, loyal customers, and collaborators who have been part of the journey. The milestone reaffirmed that Ratio Coffee is not just a cafe — it is a home for connection.
Whether you're swinging by for your morning ritual, discovering a new single-origin pour-over, or booking our mobile cart for an upcoming event — there's a place for you at Ratio Coffee.
We're open every day from 11AM to 11PM at 29 A. De Guzman St., Concepcion Uno, Marikina City. Reach us on WhatsApp or Instagram — we respond to every DM.
